Eungella Road Race - A Day To Remember

Eungella Road Race - A Day To Remember

The many riders who came to the inaugural Eungella Road Race were presented with a challenging and demanding course on Saturday afternoon at Murwillumbah.

Riders from as far afield as Ballarat and strong support from the Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Balmoral, Hamilton Wheelers, Logan City and Murwillumbah Clubs resulted in plenty of action from the get go and provided a great spectacle for supporters and passers by.

There will be many memories taken away from the event but none greater than the battle between Will Heath and Ren Han Tsen. After 75 klms, both riders locked arms and rode across the finish line together. This moment will be remembered and is what Saturday afternoon road racing at Murwillumbah is all about.

A special tahnks goes out to Meredith Dennis, Deputy Mayor, Tweed Shire Council for suggesting this course to Murwillumbah Cycle Club and her ongoing support and advice that has assisted the club to get back up and going.

Congratulations to all riders, commissaires and supporters who made this first ever Eungella Road Race such a success.
